In an effort to achieve the national and provincial digital transformation goals by 2025, with a vision toward 2030, Yen Bai province has been implementing synchronized solutions, with a strong focus on digital infrastructure development.

YBO - In January 2025, Yen Bai province boosted its export activities, achieving an export value of 35.5 million USD—exceeding 7% of the annual plan and reaching 115% in the same period in 2024.

According to the organizing committee, Viet Jungle Co., Ltd. has secured the hosting rights for the Asia Trail Master Championship 2025 final, marking the first time an international trail running championship final will be officially held in Vietnam. YBO - Following directives from the Ministry of Justice and the Provincial People's Committee, Yen Bai Province has successfully completed 100% of the digitalization of civil registration data, encompassing 650,094 records of various types, ten days ahead of schedule.

YBO - To expedite land clearance and resettlement efforts for the 500kV transmission line project from Lao Cai to Vinh Yen (Vinh Phuc), the People's Committee of Yen Binh District has established a specialized Council and Task Force. These teams are responsible for conducting inspections, preparing compensation plans, and facilitating resettlement for the project.

YBO - In 2024, the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP Foundation) collaborated with the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee and sponsors to implement 5 traffic safety projects in Yen Bai Province, with a total mobilized funding of over 4.1 billion VND.

Currently, Yen Bai Province is home to 37 active foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total registered capital of $420.7 million, equivalent to approximately VND 10,109 billion, from 11 countries and territories.

In 2024, the highland district of Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai) planted an additional 41.8 hectares of medicinal plants, bringing the district’s total cultivation area to over 2,602 hectares.

In 2024, Yen Binh District exceeded its employment goals, training 3,148 workers in vocational skills, achieving 131.17% of the provincial target and 125.9% of the district's plan. The number of new jobs created reached 130.18% of the provincial target, or 100.27% of the district’s plan. The rate of workers receiving vocational training reached 126.14% of the provincial target and 105.7% of the district's target, showing a 5.7% increase compared to 2023.

To showcase, promote, and connect the distribution of its signature products, Yen Bai Province has implemented various digital technology solutions in production and distribution processes. These efforts aim to improve the quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of local products while advertising and introducing agricultural products, OCOP items, and regional specialties on e-commerce platforms, contributing to the development of the province’s digital economy.

Yen Bai Province currently operates 20 points for the introduction and sale of OCOP (One Commune, One Product) items, showcasing 260 certified OCOP products rated three stars or higher. These sales points are distributed across most districts, towns, and cities in the province, with the highest concentration located in Yen Bai City, Van Yen District, and Nghia Lo Town.

According to the self-assessment results for 2024’s digital transformation indicators, Yen Bai City has successfully completed all 38 sub-indicators under six primary Digital Transformation indices, achieving a score of 909.9 out of 1,000 points.

In 2024, Yen Bai's tourism sector is expected to attract 2,150,000 visitors, reaching 26.4% of its annual plan and marking a 3% increase compared to the same period last year. Among them, international visitors are estimated at 270,000, achieving 90% of the target. Tourism revenue is projected at 1,790 billion VND, exceeding the plan by 19.3% and increasing by 4% year-on-year.

Since the beginning of the year, the Yen Bai Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies has implemented preferential credit programs for poor households, near-poor households, and social policy beneficiaries, with a total outstanding loan balance reaching VND 5,327 billion.

In 2024, Yen Bai province implemented 45 projects and non-project aid initiatives with a total committed funding value of $12,816,342 from various programs and projects.
