YBO - In January 2025, Yen Bai province boosted its export activities, achieving an export value of 35.5 million USD—exceeding 7% of the annual plan and reaching 115% in the same period in 2024.

Right from the beginning of the year, efforts to promote exports have helped maintain growth momentum. Yen Bai has implemented trade promotion programs to stabilize and expand traditional foreign markets while targeting potential new markets such as the European Union, the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
At the same time, the province has organized trade connection activities and supported enterprises in enhancing product promotion through e-commerce platforms. The focus is on deeply processed agricultural and forestry products, including tea, rice, cinnamon, Bat Do bamboo shoots, timber and wood products, and consumer goods. In 2024, the province’s total export value was estimated at 425.5 million USD, achieving 101.3% of the annual target.

Yen Bai aims to reach 500 million USD in export revenue by 2025, an increase of 17.5% compared to 2024. To achieve this goal, the province continues to address challenges faced by businesses in trade, exports, and industry; enhance the effectiveness of export promotion activities; and further develop its key export products.
Additionally, Yen Bai is strengthening market information dissemination to help businesses understand trends and fluctuations, enabling them to develop appropriate production plans. The province also encourages enterprises to collaborate in production, forming value chains within the province and the region.

Alongside these efforts, Yen Bai province is strongly shifting its export structure by reducing the proportion of raw and semi-processed products while rapidly increasing the share of processed and manufactured goods in total export turnover. The province is also focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of export-oriented trade promotion, leveraging commitments under Vietnam’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and utilizing global value chains to explore new markets. Additionally, businesses are encouraged to innovate and create new products.

Moreover, Yen Bai continues to develop its logistics network and border trade while pushing forward administrative reforms to streamline procedures, thereby facilitating business growth and export expansion.

Along with government support, Yen Bai-based enterprises must continue investing in modern equipment to enhance production capacity and product quality. Implementing these comprehensive solutions will help maximize export potential, sustain and elevate the province’s export position, and contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the region.
