YBO - Since the beginning of the year, Van Yen District has recorded 90 individuals participating in overseas labor programs. Among them, 45 workers were sent to Japan, 7 to South Korea, 36 to Taiwan, and 2 to Qatar. This makes Van Yen the locality with the highest number of overseas laborers in the province as of early 2025.

YBO - Since the beginning of 2025, the implementation of a range of coordinated measures has enabled Yen Bai Province to achieve positive outcomes in the disbursement of public investment capital. Notably, the province ranks among the 35 provinces and cities with disbursement rates higher than the national average.

YBO - Over the five-year period from 2021 to 2025, Yen Bai Province has created jobs for 110,339 workers. Of these: 56,393 were employed through socio-economic development programs, 11,907 accessed loans from the National Employment Fund, 2,886 worked abroad under labor export programs, and 39,153 were supplied to out-of-province employers.

YBO - After seven years of implementing Project No. 11 of the Provincial Party Committee on “Building and nurturing a source of young officials, female officials, and ethnic minority officials under the management of the Provincial Party Standing Committee through 2030, with orientation toward 2035,” Yen Bai province has to date rotated, transferred, or appointed a total of 164 officials. Among these, there were 81 young officials, 34 female officials, and 49 ethnic minority officials.

YBO - Currently, the province of Yen Bai is home to 15 industrial clusters with a total area of 710.78 hectares. Among these, 481.45 hectares are designated for industrial use, with a current occupancy rate of 43.72%. As of December 2024, 63 investment projects have been implemented, covering a total area of 162 hectares and generating a combined investment capital of VND 4,701.86 billion.

In recent years, Yen Bai Province has actively implemented a range of digital transformation (DX) initiatives that deliver practical benefits to local government, citizens, and businesses. These initiatives are not only innovative but also tailored to local needs, helping to make digital transformation more inclusive and impactful.

In recent years, Yen Bai Province has consistently prioritized investment in education, especially in remote and ethnic minority areas. Through a range of policies and support mechanisms, the province has significantly improved school attendance rates and educational quality in highland and disadvantaged regions.

In recent months, Yen Bai Province’s tourism sector has achieved notable results, with a sharp increase in visitor numbers and tourism revenue making a significant contribution to the province’s socio-economic development. These positive outcomes provide a strong foundation for Yen Bai to strive toward its 2025 tourism targets of welcoming 2 million visitors, including 300,000 international arrivals.

YBO - In the early months of 2025, despite ongoing economic fluctuations, the agricultural sector in Yen Bai Province has demonstrated remarkable resilience and growth, achieving an impressive 6.98% growth rate in the first quarter.

YBO - During the five-day holiday marking April 30 and May 1, Mu Cang Chai District welcomed more than 22,500 tourist arrivals, including over 20,200 domestic visitors and 2,300 international guests. Accommodation occupancy exceeded 90%, and tourism-related revenue reached VND 22.7 billion.

YBO - As part of the implementation of the Rural Transport Development Scheme in Yen Bai Province for the 2021–2025 period, various levels of government, departments, and localities have actively coordinated efforts and integrated multiple funding sources to invest in the development of the rural transport system.

In recent years, Yen Bai Province has prioritized the development of education and training in ethnic minority and mountainous areas with the aim of raising intellectual standards, nurturing talent, promoting socio-economic development, and reducing poverty. As of now, nearly 40% of ethnic minority students across the province are benefiting from educational support policies through boarding and semi-boarding schools.

By 2025, the mountainous district of Mu Cang Chai (MCC) aims to increase the percentage of its workforce with vocational training to 58%, focusing particularly on agriculture and tourism services.

As part of the implementation of the 2021–2025 National Target Programs (NTPs), Tran Yen District has disbursed over VND 70 billion as of the end of March 2025. Of this amount, nearly VND 56 billion came from the central government budget, while more than VND 13.5 billion was sourced from the local budget.

YBO - On the morning of April 19, 2025, Yen Bai Province held a solemn ceremony to inaugurate the road connecting National Routes 37 (QL37) and 32C (QL32C) with the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway. This event holds profound political and socio-economic significance, marking a new phase in the province’s transportation infrastructure development. It is also one of the 16 key transportation projects identified by Yen Bai for investment during the 2021-2025 period.

YBO - In an effort to promote and expand a culture of reading within families and communities—fostering the development of cultural and spiritual values and contributing to a learning society—Yen Bai City will launch the 2025 contest “Families Reading Together – Building a Loving Family Library.” The contest will run from April 15 to April 25, 2025.

YBO - As part of the province-wide initiative to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, as of April 4, Yen Bai Province had commenced construction on 2,174 out of 2,208 planned homes, reaching 98.4% of the set target. Of these, 830 houses have been fully completed.

YBO - In the first quarter of 2025, trade and service activities in Yen Bai province experienced vibrant growth, with tourism drawing a large number of visitors who contributed significantly to local consumption.

In an ongoing effort to improve the investment and business environment, the first three months of 2025 have seen a positive trend in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) activities in Yen Bai province, with several encouraging signals compared to the same period last year. Specifically, the total FDI capital in Yen Bai is estimated at 125.575 billion VND, achieving 14.77% of the 2025 annual target, representing an 11.66% increase compared to the previous year.

YBO - Recently, Yen Bai province has implemented trade promotion programs aimed at stabilizing and developing traditional foreign markets, as well as targeting potential markets such as the European Union, the United States, Japan, and South Korea.

According to the Yen Bai Statistics Office, the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the first quarter of 2025 increased by 3.2% compared to the same period in 2024, and by 2.28% compared to the previous quarter.

In recent years, Yen Bai Province has consistently prioritized the development of modern, green, and sustainable industrial parks and clusters with the dual aim of promoting economic growth and protecting the environment. From central government directives to localized implementation, the province has significantly invested in infrastructure to attract both domestic and foreign enterprises.
