Defying All Odds to Bring Key Projects to the Finish Line

YBO - The countdown is on toward major milestones: the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, the 20th Provincial Party Congress, and the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2. On every construction site in Yen Bai, the atmosphere remains vibrant. This is not just a race against time, but a vivid testament to the province’s will for innovation, determined action, and aspiration for progress demonstrated by the entire political system and the people of Yen Bai.

During the 2021–2025 period, Yen Bai Province has been implementing 26 key projects with a total investment exceeding VND 13.486 trillion. These include 5 ongoing projects carried over from the previous period and 21 newly launched projects across a wide range of sectors: transportation, infrastructure development, agriculture, culture and sports, and information technology—demonstrating the province’s strategic and comprehensive vision.

As of the end of April 2025, 16 out of the 21 newly launched projects have commenced, raising the total number of projects under construction (both ongoing and new) to 21 out of 26. Notably, 9 out of the 21 projects have been completed and put into operation, marking a significant shift in infrastructure development and opening up new growth spaces. Especially, several "backbone” projects of the province have accelerated with great urgency to meet deadlines, leaving a strong imprint.

A prime example is the project connecting National Highway 37 – National Highway 32C with the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway, which was inaugurated on April 19. Additionally, the IC13 interchange project on the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway has completed its main interchange component, while the connecting road to Provincial Road 163 is 78% complete, scheduled for inauguration in time for the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Party Committee. Other key administrative and political works, such as the Provincial Party Committee Headquarters and the Provincial Convention Center, are in the sprint phase, aiming for full completion before August 10, 2025, to mark National Day on September 2.

The overall picture is a powerful testament to the province’s resolute leadership and tireless efforts—from the Party committees and authorities to each investor and contractor. In the face of many challenges, Yen Bai has launched a series of bold, coordinated solutions—from tightening on-site supervision, assigning clear responsibilities, to establishing a "one-stop, one-head” mechanism to resolve bottlenecks.

Capital disbursement and final accounting processes have also been accelerated to ensure a seamless financial flow for the projects. At the grassroots level, local authorities have made notable progress in mass mobilization, persuading the people with the principle of "harmonizing interests, prioritizing the community,” thus resolving key obstacles in land clearance.

With time ticking toward major political events—the 80th anniversary of the Provincial Party Committee, the 20th Provincial Party Congress, and National Day—construction sites across the province remain energized. Every completed project is not only a physical milestone but also a proud declaration of a bold, action-driven term of office committed to the people.

Completing key projects on time and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency affirms the strong governance capacity, the unified efforts of the entire system, and the dedication, creativity, and decisiveness of engineers, officials, and workers across all construction sites.
