YBO - Since 2021, Yen Bai Province has recruited and provided vocational training for 81,504 people. Of these: 6,359 people (7.8%) received college-level training, 12,710 people (15.6%) received intermediate-level training, and 62,435 people (76.6%) received elementary-level training or training under three months. Each year, the province has supported vocational training for 4,000 to 5,000 rural laborers.

To achieve these results, Yen Bai Province has consistently focused on vocational and employment orientation. Provincial functional departments have coordinated with colleges, universities, and enterprises to organize Career Counseling – Enrollment – Employment Fairs in districts, towns, cities, and at secondary and high schools. These efforts have contributed to raising awareness of vocational training and encouraging students to pursue vocational education after graduation.
Vocational education institutions have actively innovated in their training activities, including: developing output standards, curricula, textbooks, and teaching materials; reforming training organization, teaching methods, and assessment methods. Training content and methodology have been innovated toward applying information technology, increasing practical training (accounting for 60–70% of the program), combining in-school practice with internships at enterprises; and focusing on teaching vocational skills and IT application skills to learners.
The skills of learners, especially those in key occupations, have met the requirements of businesses, including foreign-invested enterprises. Teaching and learning competitions have been actively organized at the grassroots and provincial levels, with participation in national-level competitions. Vocational institutions have partnered with employers to assess graduates and recruit workers.
Yen Bai Province regularly sends delegations to participate in national vocational and skills competitions, as well as contests for self-made vocational training equipment. The province has implemented models for training transitions from intermediate to college level for students graduating from lower secondary schools, along with strengthening cooperation between vocational institutions and businesses. The system of vocational education institutions continues to be reviewed and reorganized in alignment with the province’s socio-economic development planning, following the direction of openness, streamlining, efficiency, quality stratification, standardization, and modernization, ensuring coverage and meeting the demand for vocational training at all levels.
Currently, Yen Bai Province has 14 vocational education institutions, including 10 public and 4 private institutions. Yen Bai Vocational College has been approved by the Prime Minister to become one of 70 high-quality vocational schools nationwide by 2025. The school is being invested in to meet international standards in two occupations, ASEAN standards in three occupations, and national standards in 12 occupations.
It is known that during the 2021–2025 period, Yen Bai Province has created jobs for 110,339 people; transitioned 39,289 workers from agriculture to non-agriculture sectors; and, on average, creates jobs for over 22,000 people and transitions more than 7,800 workers from agriculture to non-agriculture each year.

Thanks to the development of distinctive and appealing tourism products in its key tourism regions, Yen Bai Province welcomed over 9 million tourist arrivals during the 2021–2025 period, including nearly 800,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue reached VND 7,189 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 32.7%.
Since the beginning of the year, the management of crop seed, fertilizer, and pesticide trading activities in Yen Bai Province has been effectively implemented.
To facilitate taxpayers in fulfilling their tax obligations promptly and in accordance with current tax regulations, while simultaneously strengthening tax administration and preventing revenue loss to the state budget, the tax sector of Yen Bai Province has actively guided household businesses to pay taxes through the eTax Mobile application.
From May 23 to 25, at Yen Bai Riverside Urban Area in Yen Ninh Ward, Yen Bai City, the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province will organize a Cashless Payment Market Fair.
