To date, the province has issued 103 planting area codes, covering over 1,165 hectares.

Of these, 40 codes are designated for export over more than 373 hectares (including tea, pomelo, and Aquilaria crassna) in the districts of Van Chan, Yen Binh, and Van Yen; one planting area code for cardamom export covering over 500 hectares in Mu Cang Chai District; and 62 codes for domestic consumption on over 290 hectares (including tea, rice, citrus fruits, dragon fruit, vegetables, bananas, turmeric, Alpinia, mushrooms, and medicinal herbs) across the districts of Van Yen, Tran Yen, Yen Binh, Van Chan, Luc Yen, Mu Cang Chai, Nghia Lo Town, and Yen Bai City.

The issuance of planting area codes plays a crucial role in building trust and affirming the credibility of the province’s agricultural products in both domestic and international markets. It also helps farmers, businesses, and local management officials improve the quality control of agricultural and forestry products, thereby contributing to the expansion of production scale, enhancement of productivity, product quality, and value — ultimately fostering the development of a robust agricultural economy.
