Yen Bai strengthens cultural diplomacy activities

In 2024, Yen Bai province has focused on intensifying cultural diplomacy to promote its tourism, land, and people to both domestic and international visitors.

Throughout the year, Yen Bai organized numerous activities integrating cultural diplomacy with political and economic diplomacy. These efforts showcased the image, people, and cultural identity of the province's ethnic groups to partners and tourists. Events included exhibitions, cultural displays, sports, recreational activities, and film screenings celebrating the Party and the Spring. 

Highlights included the special art program "Yen Bai - Celebrating the Party, Celebrating Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024, themed "Spring on the Land of Happiness,” and the successful Vietnam-India Art Exchange Program in Yen Bai City, commemorating 52 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1972-2024). The province also curated high-quality artistic performances during visits from international delegations, showcasing Yen Bai's culture and people to domestic and global audiences.

Foreign tourists are excited to experience wearing the traditional clothing of the H'Mong people in Mu Cang Chai district.

Yen Bai participated in cultural and tourism events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory in Dien Bien Province. Under the theme "Tourism Through Vietnam's Heritage and Scenic Landscapes," the event, part of the 2024 National Tourism Year, highlighted the cultural and natural heritage and iconic destinations of each region, including attractions loved by visitors.

Additionally, Yen Bai organized and co-hosted various tourism and cultural events inside and outside the province to enhance its visibility. These activities featured videos showcasing tourist spots, historical sites, local culture, festivals, and the unique characteristics of Yen Bai to attract visitors.

By 2025, the mountainous district of Mu Cang Chai (MCC) aims to increase the percentage of its workforce with vocational training to 58%, focusing particularly on agriculture and tourism services.

As part of the implementation of the 2021–2025 National Target Programs (NTPs), Tran Yen District has disbursed over VND 70 billion as of the end of March 2025. Of this amount, nearly VND 56 billion came from the central government budget, while more than VND 13.5 billion was sourced from the local budget.
