Yen Bai province’s delegation visits RoK

YBO - A delegation from Yen Bai province led by Do Duc Duy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the province’s delegation of National Assembly deputies, had working sessions with authorities of Seocheon district and Boryeong city in South Chungcheong province, the Republic of Korea.

At the meetings, Duy briefed the Korean side on Yen Bai’s potential and advantages, saying the locality boasts diverse natural resources and strengths in agro-forestry-fishery.

The locality has rolled out many mechanisms, policies, and legal tools to connect labourers with businesses, and raise personnel quality, meetings partners’ requirements, he added.

Duy expressed his hope that Seocheon and Yen Bai province’s Yen Binh district will sign a cooperation agreement, with a focus on aquaculture development, and sending seasonal labourers to Seocheon in line with Vietnamese and international laws.

The official also suggested Boryeong’s authorities consider the exchange of seasonal labourers with Yen Bai’s Luc Yen district, noting his belief that the city will encourage Korean businesses to scope out investment opportunities in the province.

Earlier, Duy and his entourage visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, where he spoke of Yen Bai’s potential, advantages, and incentives for investors, as well as its remarkable achievements in socio-economic development, national defence-security, and Party and political system building.

The official suggested the embassy continue to work as a bridge between Vietnam and the RoK, and their localities, especially Yen Bai and Korean localities.

He called on the embassy to help Yen Bai soon establish cooperative ties with Gangwon and other Korean localities, send workers to the country, and encourage Korean firms to launch investment projects in the province, contributing to increasing and diversifying the foreign direct investment (FDI) influx in Yen Bai.

On this occasion, the Yen Bai delegation had a working session with the Vietnam – Korea Businessmen & Investment Association.
Duy thanked the association for its role in the signing of cooperation agreements between Yen Bai and Korean localities, and suggested it support Korean investment funds, groups, enterprises, agencies, and organisations to seek investment opportunities in Yen Bai.
