Military High Commands of Yen Bai, Xayaburi sign MoU on coopertaion

YBO - The Military High Commands of Yen Bai and Laos’ Xayaburi province have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation activities in 2023.

The agreement was reached during the talks between representatives from the two high commands as part of the Yen Bai delegation’s working visit to the Lao locality.

At the talks, the two sides informed each other of the socio-economic, cultural, security, defence situation and operations of the armed forces of the two provinces; and reported on the results of the one-year implementation of their twinning regulations signed in September 2022.

Based on the principle of consensus, and the spirit of solidarity, special friendship, mutual understanding and trust, the two high commands have well disseminated and educated the local armed forces and people to be deeply aware of the traditional Laos - Vietnam relations, thus promoting the sense of responsibility of continuing to nurture the special friendship and solidarity, mutual understanding and trust between the two Parties, States, peoples and Armies of the two countries.

They have intensified information exchange on defence and security; coordinated in building comprehensively strong local armed forces; expanded the promotion of the image of the land, people, and revolutionary traditions of the Party, Army and people of Vietnam and Laos, and Yen Bai and Xayaburi.

This is one of the important activities to strengthen special solidarity and friendship between the Party, State, Army and people of the two countries in general, and between the military high commands of the two provinces in particular.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan personally presented support and gifts to workers facing hardships across Yen Bai Province.

On January 16, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 "Tet Sum Vay" program under the theme “Tet Sum Vay – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” aiming to encourage, support, and care for union members and workers in Luc Yen District.

In 2024, the total value of activities conducted by the Red Cross Society of Yen Bai Province exceeded 86 billion VND, benefiting 230,105 individuals.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
