Yen Bai delegation visits President Ho Chi Minh’s relic site in China

In the framework of their China trip, Tran Huy Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Yen Bai Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and the Yen Bai delegation joined Deputy Prime Minister Tran LuuQuang’s delegation to visit and offer flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at a relic site commemorating the leader in Kunming, China. They also visited Yunnan Agricultural Reclamation Group Co., Ltd.

The Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, covering 121.5 sq.m of land, is a former residence of the Vietnamese leader, located at No.89-91 in Hua Shan Nan Street, Kunming city of Yunnan province. It is one of the places where President Ho Chi Minh resided in the 1940-1941 period.

The delegation was introduced to the site and President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary activities during his stay there.

The relic site is one of the historical evidences with strong imprints of President Ho Chi Minh in Yunnan as well as his attachment to the locality and local residents. With its significant meaning, the site contributes to preserving and promoting the legacy left by the late leader both tangibly and intangibly. It also helps locals and Vietnamese people in Yunnan to get a deeper insight into the great life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to enhancing the friendship between Vietnam and China.

The delegation also visited the Yunnan Agricultural Reclamation Group Co., Ltd., a State-owned business ranking 32nd among the 500 leading companies of China and 11th among the 100 best businesses of Yunnan.

The firm plays a leading role in agricultural production in the goods production direction, focusing on three major sectors of green fruit, agro-forestry resources and agricultural services. It is one of the first to receive approval from the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs of China to become a global agricultural firm.

The company’s main products include natural rubber, food, sugar, tea, coffee, fruits, flowers, walnuts, and potatoes. It also engages in warehousing, transportation, agricultural machinery manufacturing, scientific research, and e-commerce.

Its operating area is Yunnan, Beijing, Shanghai and nearby localities, Hong Kong, and other countries such as Laos, Myanmar and Singapore.

In 2022, the group's total assets reached 22.4 billion CNY (about 3 billion USD), with a total revenue of 31.7 billion CNY (about 4.4 billion USD). It paid taxes about 300 million CNY (about 41 million USD) to the State budget.

At a working session with the firm, Deputy PM Quang expressed his hope that the firm will seek investment opportunities in Vietnam and send its working groups to Vietnamese localities which are strong in agriculture such as Yen Bai and Son La to find investment chances.

Meeting leaders of the company, Chairman of the Yen Bai People’s Committee Tran Huy Tuan highlighted the potential and strengths of Yen Bai, especially in agriculture. He invited a working group of the firm to Yen Bai to explore partnership and investment opportunities between the two sides.

Yen Bai always encourages and supports enterprises to implement projects related to agriculture in the province, he said, pledging that the locality will support and create optimal conditions for businesses to implement projects in the province./.
