During the meeting, Chairman Tuan expressed the hope that the Canadian government will provide Yen Bai province with official development assistance (ODA) capital and preferential loans to help the locality invest in wastewater treatment projects, transport, and landslide prevention projects and those related to climate change adaptation and green growth.
He also called for financial aid from Canadian non-governmental organisations for Yen Bai’s small-scale projects in health care, education, agricultural and rural development, and disaster prevention; and projects to support women and vulnerable groups in household economic development.
The locality urged the government, investors, and businesses of Canada to strengthen agriculture cooperation with Yen Bai; support the locality in training human resources and transferring technology; and provide technical assistance, machinery, and equipment for Yen Bai to help it accelerate mechanisation and modernisation in production, processing, and preservation of farm produce.

Allemekinders showed the desire to boost cooperation between Canada and Yen Bai in the fields of agriculture, education, health care, and human resources training.
He pledged to serve as a bridge to help Canadian investors seek cooperation and investment opportunities in Yen Bai.
On this occasion, the delegation had working sessions with relevant departments and sectors of Yen Bai province on the project "Promoting resilience, inclusiveness and creative transformation of small- and medium-sized enterprises in Yen Bai.
The 168-billion-VND project will be implemented in six years, starting from 2023 in Van Yen district and potential localities. It is funded by non-refundable ODA of the Canadian government.
