Yen Bai provincial leader receives delegation of Japan’s Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital

YBO - Tran Huy Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Yen Bai provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, hosted a reception for a delegation of Japan’s Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital led by Prof. Tanaka Yoshihide, director for health services and head of the Neurosurgery Department at the hospital, on June 2.

Chairman Tuan briefed the guests on the local healthcare development and suggested the delegation help his province access information and train manpower for the sector.

Yen Bai will ready infrastructure to meet healthcare demand and help develop the provincial General Hospital into a regional-level one for the Northwest of Vietnam, he went on.

The official also informed the delegation of some local projects that are being carried out in coordination with Japan.

For his part, Prof. Tanaka Yoshihide said he hopes the Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital will continue providing training in neurosurgery, dialysis, and pathology for the medical staff of the provincial General Hospital in Japan. It will also help open a division for imaging examination, consulting, and diagnosis at the Yen Bai hospital.

In June 2022, the Yen Bai provincial General Hospital and the Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital inked a cooperation agreement under which many delegation exchanges have been held.

The Yen Bai side has sent two delegations to the Japanese hospital to learn experience in neurosurgery. It has also welcomed four visits by medical workers from the Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital who came to give check-ups to locals and offer advice related to neurosurgery in general and certain brain surgery cases in particular.
