Yen Bai carries out 28 aid programmes, projects for women

YBO – Since 2017, the Women’s Union of Yen Bai province has attracted resources and carried out 28 programmes and projects, along with nine non-project aid packages from international organisations to help build capacity for cadres and members of the union and local residents.

To concertedly implement activities assisting women in economic empowerment, sustainable poverty reduction, and family support, since 2017, the provincial Women’s Union has worked to attract resources and carry out 28 programmes and projects, along with nine non-project aid packages worth over 59 billion VND (2.5 million USD) in total from such organisations as SPIR, Hagar, Bread for the World, and AC of Sweden.

The efforts have helped improve the capacity of union cadres, members, and local residents; assist low-income, vulnerable, and disadvantaged women to develop livelihoods and improve environmental hygiene; and build transport facilities, irrigation works, and houses of culture across Yen Bai.

By 2025, the mountainous district of Mu Cang Chai (MCC) aims to increase the percentage of its workforce with vocational training to 58%, focusing particularly on agriculture and tourism services.

As part of the implementation of the 2021–2025 National Target Programs (NTPs), Tran Yen District has disbursed over VND 70 billion as of the end of March 2025. Of this amount, nearly VND 56 billion came from the central government budget, while more than VND 13.5 billion was sourced from the local budget.
