The Department of Education and Training has just organised the final round of the province's English eloquence contest for secondary and high school students in the 2022-2023 school year with the theme "Learning in the digital transformation period".

Twenty-four candidates from 12 teams took part in the event. They are selected among 37 teams from the preliminary round conducted in the form of online competition, including 10 competing at the secondary level and 27 at the high school level.
In the final round, candidates had to take part in two parts - self introduction and eloquent.
In the first part, contestants introduced their team and team members and gave a message related to the theme of the contest. In the second part, each team gave a presentation on the theme as well as answered questions raised by their opponents and the judges.

At the end of the contest, the organising board handed over the first prize to the teams of Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted and Quang Trung Secondary School, Yen Bai City. The second prize went to four teams namely the Departments of Education and Training of Luc Yen district and Yen Bai city; Nghia Lo Town High School and Nguyen Hue High School.
The third prize was awarded to six teams - the Department of Education and Training of Van Chan district, Nghia Lo town, Mu Cang Chai and Hoang Van Thu (Luc Yen), Chu Van An (Van Yen) and Thac Ba high schools (Yen Binh).
The board also gave commendations to 7 outstanding teams in the preliminary round; the team with the best message and the team with the most impressive English skills; and awarded 11 scholarships to students studying Chinese at Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted.

On January 16, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 "Tet Sum Vay" program under the theme “Tet Sum Vay – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” aiming to encourage, support, and care for union members and workers in Luc Yen District.
In 2024, the total value of activities conducted by the Red Cross Society of Yen Bai Province exceeded 86 billion VND, benefiting 230,105 individuals.
Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
