Yen Bai signs cooperation agreement with Thai Nguyen University

YBO - The People’s Committee of Yen Bai on March 21 held a working session with Thai Nguyen University to strengthen cooperation in training, scientific research, technology transfer, and human resources development, during which a collaboration deal was signed.

Addressing the event, Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung, Director of the Thai Nguyen University, said that the university is focusing on three major pillars - high-quality human resources training; scientific research, successful technology transferring; and effective policy consultation.

The university is providing training programmes on 64 majors at the master's level, 32 at the doctoral level, 20 majors in medicine and pharmacy, for in residency training, and 107 at the bachelor level, along with 24 majors at the college level and 11 at the intermediate level.

Along with full-time training programmes, Thai Nguyen University will continue to diversify training formats, including the study-by-work training.

Participants discussed challenges, advantages and difficulties in the implementation of their cooperation, while proposing a number of new cooperation contents in the fields of education-training; enhancing human resources quality; scientific research and technology transfer; improving the capacity for officials and public servants; foreign language training; and digital transformation. They also sought areas of each other’s strengths for cooperation.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the Committee Tran Huy Tuan said that over the years, the provincial Party Organisation has issued thematic resolutions as well as mechanisms and policies to attract and improve the quality of human resources.

The province has designed policies to support the training activities for State officials and public servants as well as the transfer of science and technologies to develop strong products of the province such as cinnamon, tea, cassava, and Bat Do bamboo shoots. Production supply chains have been promoted, along with the application of science and technology advances to improve the quality of farm produce, the official said.

He affirmed that Yen Bai will provide optimal conditions for Thai Nguyen University to access scientific research projects and programmes, thus fostering cooperation and mutual support for common development.

The provincial leader also asked for the university’s coordination in human resources training; scientific research and technology transfer; building high-tech agricultural models and smart agriculture; research and development of specialty agricultural products; developing new tourism products; and digital transformation.

Particularly, the province will back the opening of a branch of Thai Nguyen University in Yen Bai in the near future./.
