Over 1,200 recruits start military service in Yen Bai

YBO - The northern province of Yen Bai has sent off 1,265 recruits this year, of that 1,000 will serve in the military and the rest, the public security force.

The provincial Military Obligation Council agreed on the contents and methods to select recruits. Medical examinations for candidates were done strictly, accurately, fairly and in accordance with the law.

Of the total recruits, more than 90% have Type 1 and Type 2 health condition; 85% of them from 18 to 21 years old; nearly 99% got secondary school and high school graduation certificates; and 2% with college and university levels.

Among the recruits, nearly 200 volunteered to join the army, 15 are Party members, and over 60 candidates for Party membership.

Ceremonies to send off recruits were organised in all nine districts, towns and city in the province.
At the ceremonies, leaders of local authorities at all levels presented flowers and encouraged the recruits to try to complete all assigned tasks.
