Yen Bai to implement EVFTA in two phases

YBO - Yen Bai province attended a national video conference on the implementation of a plan to enforce the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) on August 6, during which it defined that the implementation roadmap will be divided into two phases.

In the first phase (2020), the province will review legal documents, issue documents on the enforcement of the agreement, and raise awareness of local businesses and people of the necessity and benefits of the deal.

In the second phase from 2021-2025, Yen Bai will focus on inspecting the implementation of the EVFTA at relevant departments, sectors and units, and building support programmes to improve its national competitiveness.

The province’s commodities that hold potential for export include garment and textiles, wood and wood products, vegetables and fruits, processed farm produce, and those related to mineral processing./.
