Yen Bai reviews and standardizes nearly 90,000 personal tax codes

YBO - In implementing the task of converting personal tax codes (PTC) to align with personal identification numbers, as of early November 2024, Yen Bai province has reviewed and standardized 89,665 out of 118,516 PTCs, achieving a rate of 75.66%. Of these, 64,122 PTCs were found to match correctly, accounting for 54.1%.

Some units reported high review completion rates, including the Yen Binh District Tax Department, which achieved 100% of its target, and the Luc Yen District Tax Department, reaching 99.96% of its target.

The conversion of PTCs is expected to facilitate the accurate determination of tax obligations. Importantly, this process does not affect citizens directly. Once the use of personal identification numbers (PINs) as PTCs is fully implemented, individuals will only need to provide their PINs when resolving administrative procedures with tax authorities and other governmental agencies.

This task forms part of Project 06 under the Government's initiative to develop applications for population data, identification, and electronic authentication to support national digital transformation from 2022 to 2025, with a vision extending to 2030.
