The district has also focused on promoting and encouraging livestock development, particularly in upland and mountainous areas, leveraging local advantages in land and labor to develop key livestock breeds for commercial purposes. Efforts have been made to transition from small-scale farming to concentrated livestock production, utilizing high-yield, high-quality breeds, and gradually shifting towards semi-industrialized methods. As a result, by November 2024, the district’s total livestock population reached 131,974, achieving 99.6% of the annual target and 103.3% compared to the same period in 2023. This includes 14,350 buffaloes, 8,300 cattle, and over 109,300 pigs.

Van Chan District is actively maintaining and expanding its high-tech pig farming project, which includes over 5,000 sows located in Dai Lich Commune and Tran Phu Farm Town.

To further develop its key livestock populations, the district plans to continue implementing livestock support policies under provincial and district projects and resolutions. It will also guide residents to focus on feed storage, ensure proper vaccination, and adopt proactive measures to protect livestock during the winter season.
