Yen Bai Launches the “Land of Gems” Club

On the morning of November 9th, the "Land of Gems" Club (CLB Mien Dat Ngoc) held a gathering and officially launched in Yen Bai. The club unites distinguished Party and State officials from both within and beyond the province who have worked in the Luc Yen district and those who have moved from Luc Yen to work in Yen Bai City.

The "Land of Gems” Club is a voluntary social organization composed of esteemed officials from the Party and State. Members include officials from outside or within the province who have served in the Luc Yen district at the deputy head level and above, as well as Luc Yen natives working in Yen Bai City at similar ranks in provincial agencies, departments, and organizations.

The club was established to foster connections, appreciation, and cultural exchange among members while supporting mental well-being. It also seeks to maintain regular engagement with Luc Yen district leaders and organizations, exchanging information and promoting investment to boost local economic and social development. Additionally, the club aims to uphold traditions of unity, maintain political stability, ensure social order, and contribute to the development of the Party and local government, thereby enhancing the prosperity of Luc Yen and Yen Bai province.

At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ta Van Long, former Secretary of the Luc Yen District Party Committee, highlighted Luc Yen’s rich history and unique, diverse culture, with 18 ethnic groups residing in the area. Known for its picturesque landscapes, historical sites, favorable climate, and abundant local products, Luc Yen is especially famous for its gemstones, a trademark of the "Land of Gems.” These elements contribute to the distinct identity of Luc Yen’s people, who are known for their friendliness, hospitality, kindness, and compassion.

Over recent years, following provincial leadership and guidance, Luc Yen has upheld its revolutionary traditions and spirit of unity. The district has mobilized resources to stimulate economic and social development, strengthen defense and security, and advance Party building and governance, achieving notable progress. Urban and rural areas have seen clear improvements, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have steadily improved. These advancements have played a crucial role in the province's overall achievements.

The Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the establishment and launch of the "Land of Gems” Club is highly meaningful, as it allows Party members and officials, whether retired or currently serving in various roles, to maintain their deep connection to Luc Yen and make positive contributions to the district's growth and development

During the 2025–2030 term, Luc Yen is set to become one of the two districts in the province striving to achieve the status of a new rural district, a goal requiring the concerted efforts of Party committees, local authorities, organizations, and residents. Club members, in their various roles, will work together to contribute their expertise and support for the continuous development of Luc Yen.

At the event, the "Land of Gems” Club introduced its Board of Directors, consisting of eight members.

The SPRINT project aims to improve the socio-economic welfare of ethnic minority women in Yen Bai Province. Running from 2024 to 2029, the project is funded by a non-refundable ODA budget of 9.75 million Canadian dollars.

Since the beginning of the year, Yen Bai Province has provided employment for over 20,900 workers, achieving 104.5% of its annual target. Notably, nearly 7,500 workers have transitioned from agricultural to non-agricultural sectors, surpassing the target at 107%.

In addition to recruiting teachers according to the allocated quota, Tran Huy Tuan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province, urged the province's education sector to rationally allocate teaching staff between lowland and highland areas, among schools, and across subjects. He proposed addressing the shortage of English and IT teachers through a combination of in-person and online teaching while advancing smart education via digital transformation.
