Yen Bai Provincial Chairman Tran Huy Tuan Elected as Provincial Party Secretary

With unanimous support from 100% of the attending delegates, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Yen Bai People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, was elected as the Provincial Party Secretary for the 2020–2025 term.

On the morning of November 6 (6/11), the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee convened a conference, chaired by Mr. Ta Van Long, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, to elect the Provincial Party Secretary as proposed by the Politburo for the 2020–2025 term. 

The meeting was held to carry out the decision from the Office of the Central Party regarding the Politburo’s nomination for the position and to follow the Provincial Standing Committee’s process for completing the appointment for the 2020–2025 term. Following standard procedures for cadre appointments as stipulated by the Central Government, the Politburo endorsed Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, recommending that the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee elect him to the position.

After reviewing the nomination list and hearing the proposal from the Provincial Standing Committee, the delegates voted unanimously in favor of Mr. Tran Huy Tuan for Provincial Party Secretary. With this outcome, the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department will coordinate with the Provincial Party Office to complete the required documents for Central Government approval.

The SPRINT project aims to improve the socio-economic welfare of ethnic minority women in Yen Bai Province. Running from 2024 to 2029, the project is funded by a non-refundable ODA budget of 9.75 million Canadian dollars.

Since the beginning of the year, Yen Bai Province has provided employment for over 20,900 workers, achieving 104.5% of its annual target. Notably, nearly 7,500 workers have transitioned from agricultural to non-agricultural sectors, surpassing the target at 107%.

In addition to recruiting teachers according to the allocated quota, Tran Huy Tuan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province, urged the province's education sector to rationally allocate teaching staff between lowland and highland areas, among schools, and across subjects. He proposed addressing the shortage of English and IT teachers through a combination of in-person and online teaching while advancing smart education via digital transformation.
