YBO - In 2024, the Happiness Index of Yen Bai residents reached 66.52%, a 0.90% increase compared to 2023 (65.62%).

In 2024, closely following and concretizing the resolutions of the Government, the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Council of Yen Bai Province regarding socio-economic development, along with the efforts and determination of various levels, sectors, and localities, the People's Committee of Yen Bai Province has implemented synchronous, flexible, and timely tasks and solutions with a dynamic, proactive, creative, and effective spirit. They have actively applied information technology in leadership, management, administration, and task execution. As a result, the province's socio-economic situation in 2024 has continued to maintain growth momentum and achieved significant results.

As of now, Yen Bai has completed 31 out of 32 estimated targets, meeting and exceeding the plan. The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate is 7.91%, ranking 7th out of 14 provinces in the Northeast region and 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide (an increase of 11 places compared to 2023).

It is estimated that by the end of the year, Yen Bai will have 31 out of 32 targets met and exceeded (15 targets exceeding the plan and 16 targets meeting the plan). The province's economy and society continue to develop, achieving comprehensive and significant results. The total product growth rate is strong, with an estimated 7.91% for the year, ranking 7th out of 14 provinces in the region and 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

In 2024, Yen Bai expects to welcome 2,150,000 visitors, reaching 126.5% of the target, with tourism revenue estimated at 1.79 trillion VND, or 119.3% of the target. Throughout the year, the province has 13 communes achieving new rural standards, 7 communes meeting advanced rural standards, and 4 communes achieving model new rural standards.

The export value of goods is estimated at 425.5 million USD, reaching 101.3% of the plan. The province expects to issue new registration certificates for 300 enterprises, achieving 100% of the target; 103 cooperatives, reaching 128.8% of the target; and 532 cooperative groups, reaching 177.3% of the target. Total development investment is estimated at 21.022 trillion VND, fulfilling 100.1% of the plan. So far, the province has concreted 418.5/400 km of cemented roads, exceeding 104.6% of the 2024 plan.

Administrative reforms have made significant progress, creating a strong impetus for the sustainable development of the economy and society and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of state administrative machinery.

Social welfare policies have been implemented synchronously and promptly, reaching the right beneficiaries. Efforts in environmental protection, disaster prevention, and climate change response have been strengthened.

In culture and society, many advancements have been made. Educational and training work has continued to be fundamentally and comprehensively renewed. Vocational training and job creation, linked to labor conversion in rural areas, have seen many innovations, contributing to improving human resource quality, increasing labor productivity, and adjusting labor structure in a more appropriate manner.
