
YBO - Recognizing that increasing residents' income is a key goal in building new rural areas, Van Yen District has implemented various solutions to boost incomes.

YBO - As of November 2024, Yen Bai Province has paved 418.46 km of rural roads, exceeding the target of 400 km outlined in the Provincial Party Committee’s Action Program No. 188, achieving 104.6% of the plan.

YBO - Despite severe damages caused by Storm No. 3, Yen Bai Province's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is estimated to have achieved a growth rate of 5.63% in 2024, with several indicators showing significant increases.

YBO - Since the beginning of the year, Yen Binh district has seen the addition of 18 villages recognized as model rural villages, raising the district's total to 35 model villages, achieving 64.3% of the annual plan.

Leveraging its favorable climate and soil conditions, Mu Cang Chai District (Yen Bai Province) is prioritizing the development of agricultural models that apply advanced technologies to produce high-value goods.

YBO - Yen Binh District currently boasts over 5,564 hectares of natural forest and more than 36,712 hectares of planted forest, achieving a forest coverage rate of 54.76%.

YBO - The Yen Bai Provincial Farmers' Union, together with the management of the Forest and Farm Facility Phase II Program (FFF II), recently delivered plant and livestock support to eight households developing forest-based production models in Hung Thinh Commune (Tran Yen District) and Thinh Hung Commune (Yen Binh District).

Despite ongoing challenges from natural disasters and economic downturns, consumer demand in Yen Bai Province has shown a steady increase over the past ten months compared to the same period last year. To stimulate domestic consumption and revive production and business activities, various levels of government, sectors, and enterprises in Yen Bai are implementing several measures to boost year-end consumer demand.

YBO - The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recently organized a conference to promote the pilot program for issuing and managing codes for forest planting areas for raw materials and to launch the pilot project using iTwood to develop a carbon business model from planted forests (FCBMO project) in Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province.

YBO - In recent years, Yen Bai province has intensified trade promotion efforts, expanded distribution channels, and diversified advertising formats to bring its OCOP offerings closer to domestic consumers, with an eye toward export opportunities.

At the end of October, we returned to Tran Yen, a land heavily impacted by the historic flood caused by the third tropical storm. To our surprise, the land stretching along the Red River and passing through Nga Quan, Viet Thanh, Dao Thinh, Bao Dap, Quy Mong, Y Can, and Minh Quan had transformed into a green landscape, filled with corn, vegetables, beans, and especially mulberry plants.

YBO - After six years of implementing the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) Program, Yên Bái Province has 248 OCOP products that remain valid. These products have demonstrated distinctiveness and unique characteristics, with many bearing collective trademarks and geographical indications.
YBO - Yen Bai province has two of the 74 poorest districts in the country: Tram Tau and Mu Cang Chai.

YBO - In 2024, Yen Bai province plans to certify sustainable forests (FSC) for 22,550 hectares. However, by the end of September 2024, the province had only certified 12,914.9 hectares of sustainable forests (FSC), achieving 57.3% of the plan.

YBO - The agricultural department, along with various departments, localities, and farmers, is determined to restore agricultural production to meet this growth objective for the year.

YBO - In the first nine months of 2024, Yen Bai's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 4.26% compared to the same period last year. The primary causes were fluctuations in domestic fuel prices in line with global fuel price trends, and the rising prices of food and agricultural products.

In recent years, to promote crop restructuring, Van Chan district has been testing several new plant varieties, with Bat Do bamboo becoming one of the key crops.

YBO - Since 2023, Yen Bai province has supported the construction of new and repaired 2,950 out of 3,022 houses, achieving 98% of the set plan. Specifically, nearly 1,600 houses were built in 2023, and in 2024, the goal is to construct over 1,400 houses, completing the objectives of the housing support project for the poor one year ahead of schedule.

YBO - The impact of Typhoon No. 3's tropical cyclone has caused over 1,000 hectares of aquaculture in Yen Bai Province to be flooded, breached, and have dike breaks; nearly 300 fish cages were affected, with estimated damages of about 41.5 billion VND.

YBO - Thanks to effective forest protection and development, particularly large timber plantations meeting FSC standards, Na Hau Nature Reserve in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai now meets the criteria for exporting carbon credits, promising significant future revenue for the state.

YBO - Enterprises in Vietnam in general and Yen Bai province in particular are enhancing their trade cooperation with the Republic of Korea (RoK).

YBO – Yen Bai province is popularising its advantageous industrial products and services at the 33rd Vietnam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo 2024) which is being held in Hanoi from April 3-6.

YBO - The Farmers’ Association of Yen Bai province has just cooperated with the Management Board of the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) programme, the Vietnam Farmer’s Union (VNFU), the Farmers’ Association of Yen Binh district, and Tan Nguyen commune to launch a large timber afforestation and forest restoration campaign in an attempt to reduce greenhouse emission.
