Through a series of coordinated initiatives, Yen Bai has become an attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists.

Although the region was severely affected by the storm, local agencies and authorities have remained proactive in executing the 2024 Tourism Development Plan. This includes the "Green Tourism with Yen Bai" campaign, celebrations for major anniversaries, and activities aligned with the expanded tourism cooperation plan among eight Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.

These efforts have not only supported recovery but have also strengthened Yen Bai’s appeal as a sustainable, scenic destination, driving continued growth in visitor numbers throughout the year.

Since the beginning of 2024, Yen Bai has developed over 50 diverse tours catering to both domestic and international tourists. Highlights include the "Luxury Retreat Amidst Northwest Mountains" (Yen Bai City - Nghia Lo - LeChamp - Suoi Giang), "Healthy Body - Peaceful Mind" (Yen Bai City - Dong Cuong Temple - Phong Du Thuong), and "Travel far to come back home" (Yen Bai City - Nghia Lo - Tram Tau). This variety has helped sustain tourism despite a 40% drop in visitor numbers in September due to Tropical Storm No. 3. Over the first ten months, the province recorded 1.114 million visitors—a 51.58% increase year-over-year. Tour-based tourism saw a significant rise, with tour guests reaching an estimated 1,883—up 4.6 times from the previous year—and total tour days hitting 2,581 days, a 4.2-fold increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Revenue from accommodation, dining, and travel services reached 2,175.1 billion VND, marking a 20.55% increase over last year. Specifically, accommodation services generated 180.9 billion VND, a 51.19% rise, dining services earned 1,989.8 billion VND (up 18.2%), and direct tourism and related services earned 4.4 billion VND, 3.4 times higher compared to the prior year.

Yen Bai province is predicted to welcome 1.7 million tourists this year, including 300,000 international visitors, with a target revenue of 1.5 trillion VND from tourism activities.
