Yen Bai steps up information work serving external relations

YBO - In order to enhance Yen Bai’s position during the international integration process, the local authorities have launched active, synergistic, comprehensive, and practical information work serving external relations.

The provincial Party Committee's Commission for Information and Education have frequently drafted and issued documents guiding the organisation of communications campaigns across the locality on external relations such as the friendship year between Vietnam and Laos and Cambodia last year; and on Vietnam’s sea and island knowledge. Meanwhile, the provincial People’s Committee has focused on the implementation of legal documents and communication activities serving external relations.

In 2022, the Yen Bai Newspaper published over 10,300 articles, photos and reportages serving external relations and diplomacy, with its electronic version recording more than 1.56 million visits from 132 countries and territories. The province’s radio and television stations together broadcasted more than 2,000 news stories, which were translated into Mong, Thai, and Dao ethnic languages; while the province's official portal cooperated with functional departments and agencies to proactively and accurately reflect the current domestic and international situations to local residents.

Also last year, Yen Bai published more than 13,500 publications for communications work in different languages serving demand for news on the locality and Vietnam of foreigners and overseas Vietnamese.

These articles showcased Yen Bai’s landscape, people, culture, tourism, and international cooperation, among others.

In the time to come, promotion programmes in the field on the media platform is set to be boosted further.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
