Yen Bai military command foster ties with Xayabury counterpart

YBO - The Military High Command of Yen Bai and the Military High Command of Xayabury province of Laos have held talks to discuss the outcomes of their twin relations since 2020 and sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for 2022.

Since 2020, despite impacts from COVID-19, the two sides have maintained close contacts, while extending greetings to each other on special occasions and important political events of the two countries and militaries.

Implementing the cooperation agreement reached between the two provinces, the Yen Bai command has advised the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee to provide Xayabury with three dialysis machines for the provincial hospital and support to build the office of the Department of Foreign Affairs, schools, and present 75 computers for departments, and agencies, enabling the province to complete its tasks. The total value of the support reached over 18 billion VND (757,256 USD).

In order to make their coordination deeper and more effective, at the talks, Major General Dinh Manh Phac, Deputy Commander of Military Region 2, suggested that the two provinces continue to thoroughly understand the foreign policies and viewpoints of the two Parties, States and militaries, while working closely to popularise the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam tradition of solidarity and special friendship, resolutely cracking down the "peaceful evolution" plots as well as riots and subversion of hostile forces, and upholding the roles and responsibilities of Party Committees and commanders at all levels in the implementation of regulations and contents of their twin relations.
