Yen Bai City: 64% of Residents Regularly Engage in Sports Activities

YBO - Yen Bai – The movement "All People Exercise Following the Example of Great Uncle Ho" has been widely promoted among officials, public servants, and residents of Yen Bai City, leading to significant participation in regular sports and fitness activities, reaching a rate of 64%.

In 2024, Yen Bai City reaffirmed its leading position in sports and physical activities within the province, contributing to improving public health and overall well-being. The number of people who regularly participate in sports and fitness activities in the city reached 70,430, accounting for 64% of the population, with 12,720 recognized as sports-oriented families. The city currently has 240 sports clubs, including pickleball, soft volleyball, badminton, and soccer clubs, all maintaining regular and vibrant activities.

These sports clubs operate under established regulations and financial management, overseen by local authorities. Notable wards with strong sports movements include Hong Ha, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Nam Cuong, and Dong Tam. Activities such as Shuffle Dance, Aerobics, folk dance, and Yoga have become popular among women, while basketball, Karate, Vovinam, soccer, and badminton attract significant participation from children and teenagers.

The city has also prioritized the development of sports facilities in schools. All schools now have playgrounds and training areas equipped with the necessary sports equipment. Additionally, the local government has invested in sports and cultural infrastructure, aligning with available resources and community needs.
