Yen Bai, Japan’s Mimasaka city sign framework agreement on cooperation implementation

YBO - The Yen Bai provincial People’s Committee and the administration of Japan’s Mimasaka city have signed a framework agreement on the implementation of cooperation activities for 2022 - 2025.

Yen Bai officials at the signing ceremony in the Japanese city included Do Duc Duy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Yen Bai; and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ngo Hanh Phuc. Mayor Hagiwara Seiji was among the Mimasaka officials at the event.

Welcoming the Yen Bai delegation, Mayor Hagiwara Seiji said the province is one of the first friendship partners of Mimasaka, and that the two sides will promote common activities on the basis of the signed agreement.

He also expressed his hope to visit Vietnam soon while pledging to contribute to the development of the two localities as well as the Vietnam - Japan extensive strategic partnership.

Secretary Duy noted Yen Bai and Mimasaka signed a cooperation deal to set up friendship and cooperative ties in 2019. Since then, they have frequently discussed cooperation issues and boosted mutual assistance, especially in COVID-19 prevention and control. 

He held that the signing of the framework agreement for cooperation implementation for 2022 - 2025 will generate practical benefits for their development and also help intensify the Vietnam - Japan extensive strategic partnership.

Basing on the agreement, the two sides will continue working together to carry out cooperation activities, the official added.

The deal took effect upon the signing date and will expire on December 31, 2025.

So far, Yen Bai and Mimasaka have moved to step up collaboration in culture - tourism, agriculture, labour, education, investment, and delegation exchanges.

As part of the working visit, the Yen Bai delegation visits the Aida Engineering JSC in Mimasaka city.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
