On behalf of local leaders, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Do Duc Duy thanked the Singaporean investors for their interest in chances in Yen Bai.

He said the province boasts numerous advantages in terms of forestry, minerals, tourism, and cultural resources, an abundant workforce, and a good transport system, all which can benefit investors. Over the past years, it has stepped up administrative reforms while issuing many open mechanisms and policies to attract investment.

With such potential and advantages, Yen Bai is ready to welcome and create the best possible conditions for enterprises and investors coming to seek opportunities, he said.

Duy said the province wishes to attract investment to industrial park infrastructure, agro-forestry-fishery processing, mineral processing, biomass power, labour-intensive industries applying high technology, hi-tech and organic agriculture, and resort and health tourism.

The Secretary also informed his guests of local efforts to build a smart city and create an optimal environment for investors and businesses.

For his part, Douglas Foo said he is impressed with the socio-economic achievements that Yen Bai, despite being a mountainous and disadvantaged province, has obtained in recent years.

He also highly valued the province’s strategic orientations for the time ahead as well as preferential mechanisms and policies for investment attraction.

The foreign official noted the delegation will pay a fact-finding trip to some localities in Yen Bai, make assessment, and then introduce Singaporean businesses and investors to the province in the near future.
