Yen Bai’s Red Cross successfully concludes 7th congress

YBO - The Vietnam Red Cross Society’s chapter in Yen Bai province has freshly held its 7th Congress for the 2022 – 2027 term.

Grouping a total of 225 grassroots associations, over 58,000 members, and 5,277 volunteers, the chapter has completed and exceeded most of the targets set in its 6th Congress’s Resolution for the 2016-2021 term.

During the past term, the chapter’s value of activities to benefit nearly 240,000 people amounted to 114 billion VND (4.9 million USD), an increase of 57% compared to the previous tenure.

Its campaigns raised funding worth close to 2.3 billion VND to support people with difficulties; and over 72,500 gift sets worth 35.8 billion VND for the poor and AO/dioxin victims on the occasion of the Lunar New Year festival. Meanwhile, its blood donation campaigns attracted nearly 37,000 donors and received some 22,800 units.

Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, receives a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

The 7th congress elected 33 members of the executive committee.

On the occasion, the chapter was honoured with the Prime Minsiter’s excellent emulation flag for 2020, and its nine groups and 10 members bestowed upon with the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee’s certificates of merit.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan personally presented support and gifts to workers facing hardships across Yen Bai Province.

On January 16, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 "Tet Sum Vay" program under the theme “Tet Sum Vay – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” aiming to encourage, support, and care for union members and workers in Luc Yen District.

In 2024, the total value of activities conducted by the Red Cross Society of Yen Bai Province exceeded 86 billion VND, benefiting 230,105 individuals.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.

This period marks the end of the harvest season, allowing everyone to rest after a year of hard work. Nowadays, most Hmong people celebrate the Lunar New Year alongside the rest of the nation.
