Yen Bai launches smart city infrastructure system

Yen Bai province on March 11 officially unveiled a smart city infrastructure system serving digital transformation and held a conference to launch digital transformation tasks for 2022.

The provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 51 on digital transformation for 2021 - 2025 with a vision to 2030, showing the determination to carry out digital transformation in the three pillars of digital administration, digital economy, and digital society.

So far, Yen Bai has put into use a data centre, a security operations centre, and a camera system for security and traffic safety surveillance, and been connected with the national population database. Meanwhile, a data transmission network for Party and State agencies in the province has been applied at 408 places, and a videoconferencing system deployed to 183 places, including 173 communes.

All the 425 public services in Yen Bai are now provided at Level 4 - the highest level, 78.33 percent of the papers of Level-3 and -4 online public services handled online, and 100 percent of the local people and businesses satisfied with the settlement and administrative procedures by the three levels of administration, thereby helping improve the local happiness index as in line with the resolution of the 19th provincial Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 tenure.

In addition, Yen Bai has paid attention to developing digital technology company, digital content, e-commerce, and smart production. It has assisted 100 businesses to complete their e-commerce infrastructure on e-commerce platforms.

The rate of local households using smartphones now stands at 94.7 percent. Meanwhile, 100 percent of the educational establishments have applied education management software, and the telehealth consulting system been used in all district-level localities. Yen Bai is the sixth province nationwide to pilot the telehealth system at the communal level.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
