  •  Thursday, March 3, 2022

YBO - Yen Bai is sending 62 students, including 59 from Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted, one from Le Quy Don High School, another from Chu Van An High School, and the last from the provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, to the national examination for excellent students from March 4-5.

They compete in 10 subjects, namely Math, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, History, Geography, Biology, English, Informatics, and Chinese. This is the first year that Yen Bai province has students taking the Chinese language exam.

Due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's exam only has writing and speaking sections (for foreign languages), and no practice test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology like those of previous years.

The exam takes place at Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted in Yen Bai City. The school has fully prepared facilities and equipment for the exam.

This school once had a student winning a prize at the 2015 Asian Physics Olympiad, one student earning a silver medal at the 2019 International Chemistry Olympiad, and 54 gold, silver and bronze medals of students of its first 6th grade at the national final round of the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) in the 2021-2022 academic year.
