Provincial leaders offer congratulations on Vietnamese Doctors’ Day

YBO - Leaders of Yen Bai province have visited local health establishments on the occasion of the 67th Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955 - 2022).

Congratulating the units, the provincial leaders lauded efforts by the health sector to excellently fulfill COVID-19 prevention and control duties, helping Yen Bai stay as a "green zone” for a long time and the last province in Vietnam to record community transmission of the coronavirus.

The local health sector sent nine delegations with 188 members to assist southern localities, along with Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces in the northern region to fight against the pandemic. Their efforts have received high evaluation from the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The officials also asked the sector to press on with communications to instruct local residents about how to prevent the disease and curb the transmission, actively give advice to COVID-19 patients under home treatment to minimise severe cases and deaths, and continue the vaccination campaign, including for children aged 5 -12.

The sector was also requested to improve the treatment capacity of medical establishments and upgrade the provincial Centre for Disease Control into a regional-level testing unit.
