Yen Bai inks digital transformation cooperation deal with Viettel

YBO - Yen Bai province and the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) have recently signed a cooperation agreement on a digital transformation implementation strategy in the province for 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030.

At the signing ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Huy Tuan underlined the importance of the agreement, asking Viettel to pay attention to and allocate its resources to support Yen Bai’s digital transformation in the three pillars of digital administration, digital economy and digital society.

He urged the group to work closely with the province’s steering committee for building smart urban area in the research of digital technologies and services that Viettel holds strengths and are in line with the scale and roadmap of Yen Bai; as well as in the pilot launching of 5G network in Yen Bai city, Nghia Lo township and Van Yen district by the second quarter of this year.

The cooperation deal aims to capitalise on chances brought by the fourth Industrial Revolution so as to bolster the transition to a new growth model in association with the implementation of strategic breakthroughs; developing the digital economy; the sustainable development on the basis of science-technology, innovation and high quality human resources to improve people and businesses’ satisfaction, thus helping Yen Bai to rank among 30 leading provinces and cities nationwide in digital transformation by 2025.

Earlier, Yen Bai leaders attended a workshop on digital transformation hosted by Viettel.

Addressing the event, Secretary of the Yen Bai Party Committee Do Duc Duy affirmed that the province will focus on the building of a digital administration with a consistent goal of offering better services to citizens and businesses. Yen Bai has built modern digital infrastructure that meets requirements of digital transformation in the coming time, he added.

Regarding digital economic development, the province will put those in the ‘One Commune, One Product’ programme and its staples for sale on e-commerce platforms.

Yen Bai will speed up digital transformation in the fields of healthcare, education, agriculture, planning-finance-banking, transport and logistics, natural resources-environment, industrial production and trade, culture-tourism.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
