Yen Bai honours collectives, individuals excellently fulfilling political tasks in 2021

YBO - Yen Bai province has organised a conference reporting on its performance of political tasks in 2021 and commending the collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

On December 18, 2020, the provincial Party Committee issued Action Plan No. 18-CTr/TU on the leadership over the implementation of political tasks in 2021. This plan assigned detailed tasks, with 567 targets and duties, to 57 agencies, units, and localities.

With the motto of "Reform, creativity, resoluteness, discipline, effectiveness” and efforts by the entire political system, 560 of the 567 targets and duties, equivalent to 98.8 percent, had been fulfilled by December 31, 2021. The province impressively surpassed a number of targets for various fields, with safe and flexible adaptation to and effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yen Bai posted good economic growth, with its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) expanding 7.11 percent, ranking second among the 14 northern midland and mountainous provinces and 12th among the 63 provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide. Collection for the State budget exceeded the set target. Besides, Yen Bai is also a highlight in the northwestern region as 88 of the 150 local communes have met new-style countryside standards.


More investment was poured into key areas, creating strong momentum for socio-economic development. Cultural and social aspects received due attention and improved considerably while the cultural identities of ethnic groups was upheld and brought into play. Meanwhile, the art of Xoe dance of the Thai ethnic people was inscribed in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

In recognition of local collectives and individuals’ efforts to surmount difficulties and challenges, the Yen Bai administration commended 62 collectives, comprising agencies, units, and localities, along with 71 individuals who showed outstanding performance of their assigned tasks.

These cultural assets have positioned Muong Lo – Nghia Lo as a sought-after destination for both domestic and international travelers, contributing to its growing prominence on the tourism map of Yen Bai province.
