Yen Bai association of former youth volunteers holds 4th congress

YBO - The association of former member of the youth volunteer force of Yen Bai province, which was established during wartime to serve the 1950 Autumn Winter Border Campaign, held its 4th congress for the 2021 – 2026 tenure on December 24.

Nearly 70 delegates, representing over 1,200 members of the association, attended the event.

As heard at the congress, the association has established its chapters in seven out of nine districts, townships, and city.

It has so far proactively participated in the local patriotic emulation and socio-economic campaigns. Many members have worked to educate younger generations on traditional values and participated in grassroots COVID-19 prevention and control activities.

The association has set up a fund worth 824 million VND (36,000 USD) to offer non-interest loans for its members, while building 40 charity houses and granting more than 100 saving accounts worth 140 million VND for needy members.

In the spirit of solidarity and democracy, the congress set out new orientations and targets for the tenure and elected a 21-member executive board, with Nguyen Van Tinh re-elected as chairman of the association.

On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit for three collectives and seven individuals with outstanding performances in joining patriotic emulation campaigns and building the association.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
