Thirty wheelchairs presented to people with disabilities in Yen Bai city

YBO - The Youth Union of Yen Bai city has coordinated with the fund raising committee of the “Bau oi” foundation to hand over 30 wheelchairs to disadvantaged people with disabilities in the city.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh and a representative of the "Bau Oi" foundation present gifts and over 30 wheelchairs worth 60 million VND to disadvantaged people with disabilities in the city.

Over the past time, with creative solutions and the involvement of the whole political system, Yen Bai city has witnessed important results in poverty reduction. The city has implemented a project to support and help poor households who are unable to make their own lives out of poverty in the 2021 - 2025 period.

The project has benefited 59 poor households with financial aid of 300,000 VND/person/month, along with food and other necessities. They have also received support in accessing information and upgrading houses, and regular health check-ups. The support has so far totaled nearly 440 million VND.

Statistics show that Yen Bai city has recorded a decrease of 98 poor households, reaching over 150 percent of the set plan.

30 wheelchairs worth 60 million VND were given to disabled people in difficult circumstances in the city.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
