The healthcare sector of Yen Bai province is actively implementing and applying new and advanced medical techniques in diagnosis and treatment.

Between 2021 and 2025, Yen Bai’s healthcare sector has introduced nearly 500 new and advanced techniques for diagnosis and treatment.

In 2024 alone, 106 new techniques have been implemented, reaching 132.5% of the assigned target. Specifically, provincial-level hospitals have introduced 46 techniques, while district-level facilities have implemented 60.

Notable specialized techniques include permanent pacemaker implantation for treating slow heart rhythms, leukapheresis and platelet apheresis therapy, therapeutic plasma exchange for blood disorders, radiofrequency or endovenous laser treatment for venous insufficiency, as well as diagnosis and intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder and psychological rehabilitation therapies for mental health patients.

Additionally, various surgical and interventional procedures have been introduced, such as total laparoscopic hysterectomy, umbilical venous catheter placement, invasive mechanical ventilation, femoral head and hip joint replacement, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, septoplasty, spinal disc herniation correction, thoracoscopic surgery for pleural adhesions, acupuncture-based rehabilitation techniques, and ELISA microbiological testing.

These achievements stem from the province's consistent prioritization of healthcare funding, alongside investments in infrastructure upgrades and modern medical equipment to ensure a synchronized and advanced healthcare system. The well-developed healthcare network has laid the foundation for Yen Bai to strengthen partnerships with central and international hospitals, facilitating the transfer and application of new and specialized medical techniques. As a result, the quality of medical services has improved significantly, easing the burden on higher-level hospitals while enhancing the overall well-being of Yen Bai residents. The patient satisfaction rate with healthcare services, along with health insurance coverage in the province, has exceeded 95%.

These efforts not only elevate the reputation and credibility of the local healthcare sector but also allow residents to access high-quality medical care without having to travel to major hospitals. This saves time, effort, and costs while improving treatment opportunities for the people of Yen Bai.
