Responding to the campaign, women in Yen Binh town have regularly cleaned village roads. Luong Thi Hoa, chairwoman of the Yen Binh town women's union, said the 1,950-member union put in place the drive last year, attracting the participation of 150 households.

The number of participating households rose to 224 last year, of which 148 met set standards, she said, noting that all of the 13 residential areas in the town have joined happiness-building efforts, and the rate of cultural families reached 94.6%.

The campaign was launched by the district Party Committee in December 2021, with the women’s union playing the core role. The "six no's” refers to no poverty, no law violation and no social evil, no domestic violence, no population policy violation, no malnourished children and no school dropout, and no early marriage and no intermarriage.

Meanwhile, the "6 clean's" means clean house, clean kitchen, hygienic bathroom, latrine, and water, and clean alley, road and environment.

Right after the launch, the women’s union has instructed its branches to respond to the campaign, and coordinated with the district Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and other mass organisations to encourage local residents to ensure environmental sanitation in seven communes recognised as new-style rural areas and advanced new-style rural areas.

Thanks to the efforts, the union’s branches have formed 39 such models, planted "six no's, six clean's” and "clean house, beautiful garden” signs, and decided to establish 45 specialised units in response to the campaign.

Through specific activities, the union has contributed to changing the mindset, promoting the sense of responsibility among officials and members, and boosting local development.
