Yen Bai home to 175 grassroots-level education promotion associations

YBO - In the first nine months of 2022, Yen Bai had maintained the operations of 175 grassroots-level education promotion associations with more than 1,900 branches in hamlets, villages, residential areas and schools, and 435 in agencies, units and businesses, with a total of more than 227,500 members.

With great efforts and high determination as well as innovation in organising and implementing the movement to build a learning society in line with the real conditions in particular locality, the education promotion associations at all levels in Yen Bai have attracted more than 126,360 households, 337 family clans, 997 hamlets, villages, and residential areas, along with 569 businesses, 130 communes, wards and townships registering for the title of learning community in 2022.

Also in the first nine months of this year, the provincial Education Promotion Association rewarded 23,000 students and teachers with total award value of more than 8.9 billion VND (372,540 USD), while raising 18.7 billion VND to build schools and education facilities, and actively coordinating with departments, sectors and localities to open classes to teach Vietnamese, English and Nom Dao (scripts of Dao ethnic minority group).

At a ceremony to launch the tasks in the remaining months of this year and mark the 26th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Education Promotion Day, 11 officials and members of the provincial Education Promotion Association were honoured with the "For the education promotion cause” insignia. 

Meanwhile, one collective received the emulation flag from the Vietnam Education Promotion Association’s Central Committee in recognition of its outstanding performance in implementing education and talent promotion movements and the building of learning society in 2021. At the same time, three collectives and two individuals were also presented with the certificates of merit from the Vietnam Education Promotion Association’s Central Committee.
