Yen Bai tightens COVID-19 prevention, control measures

YBO - The northern province of Yen Bai has tightened prevention measures amid the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country.

The Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee issued Dispatch No.407 requesting the COVID-19 prevention and control steering committee of the province, Party committees and organisations, authorities, departments, sectors and the Fatherland Front Committee to carry out prevention measures in a stringent and effective manner in the new context.

Earlier, the provincial People’s Committee ordered the closure of beer clubs and coffee shops in Yen Bai city and Yen Binh township starting from July 19 midnight.

The steering committees for COVID-19 prevention and control in communes and wards of the two localities inspected and asked the establishments to closely comply with the instruction.

Local people voluntarily wear face masks when going out and do not travel out of the province if unnecessary.

Meanwhile, those who returned from pandemic-hit provinces and cities in accordance with the daily bulletin of the Health Department actively reported to local authorities and health clinics.

Yen Bai city along with districts and townships reinstalled checkpoints, especially at locations bordering with other provinces to keep a close watch on entry and exit.

The transport sector also devised a dispatch asking vehicles to use QR-Code to make health declarations at checkpoints so as to reduce direct contact for drivers of inter-provincial vehicles. 

Furthermore, the province has launched the first phase of a mass vaccination drive in the 2021-22 period in tandem with the Government’s instruction.
