Nearly 2 billion VND raised for COVID-19 prevention, control

YBO - As of June 8 afternoon, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Yen Bai province had received nearly 2 billion VND (86,881 USD) in donations to the COVID-19 prevention and control fund of the province and the COVID-19 vaccine fund.

The amount came from more than 80 individuals and collectives, including Hoa Sen Group with 300 million VND, the provincial Department of Public Security with 300 million VND, Thac Ba Hydropower JSC 200 million VND, Yen Bai Cement & Minerals JSC 100 million VND, R.K Marble Vietnam Company Limited 100 million VND, Yen Bai branch of Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development 50 million VND, and Petrolimex Yen Bai Company Limited and Yen Bai Electricity Company 50 million VND each.

Earlier on May 28, the provincial VFF Committee called on agencies, units, organisations, businesses, officers and soldiers as well as people from all walks of life to uphold solidarity and responsibility to the community, strictly abiding by the Government’s regulations and directions of the province on urgent measures in COVID-19 prevention and control, thus preventing the pandemic from spreading in the community.

The committee also called for support to COVID-19 prevention and control activities, focusing on purchase of COVID-19 vaccines, respirators and medical supplies, assistance to quarantine and treatment facilities, and encouragement to frontline forces.

By 2025, the mountainous district of Mu Cang Chai (MCC) aims to increase the percentage of its workforce with vocational training to 58%, focusing particularly on agriculture and tourism services.
