Yen Bai province responds to World No Tobacco Day

YBO - The People’s Committee of Yen Bai province has issued a document on activities in response to World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and National No Tobacco Week under the theme “Promise to quit smoking” from May 25-31, 2021.

The province will enhance activities on preventing the harmful effects of tobacco through interdisciplinary cooperation in building plans and deploying activities on preventing the harmful effects of tobacco; continuing incorporating content on preventing the harmful effects of tobacco in annual action plans, enforcing strict no smoking rules at workplaces and incorporating it into internal regulations of agencies and units; putting "No smoking” signs at public places.

In addition, Yen Bai will also continue raising public awareness about the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, advantages of quitting smoking, methods to quit smoking as well as harmful effects of e-cigarette.

The provincial People’s Committee asked departments, sectors and units to closely coordinate with the provincial agency in charge of preventing the harmful effects of tobacco to organise suitable and meaningful activities to respond to the World No Tobacco Day and National No Tobacco Week.
