Yen Bai''s leaders inspect COVID-19 prevention and control in Tran Yen

YBO - Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Do Duc Duy and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh on May 12 inspected the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in Tran Yen district.

Recently, Tran Yen has mobilised the engagement of the whole political system in implementing drastic and comprehensive measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Particularly, right after detecting people having close contact with a COVID-19 patient at a wedding party in Viet Cuong commune, the district has set up a medical quarantine site and applied lockdown in the affected residential area, while forming checkpoints and prepare concentrated quarantine areas, keeping a close watch on the situation and encouraging people to make health declarations.

So far, the district has sent 240 people contacting with F1 cases to quarantine, while putting nearly 3,000 people under self-quarantine at home and applying medical supervision on nearly 1,500 others.

Alongside, Tran Yen has mobilised from the community nearly 2 tonnes of rice, more than 80 million VND in cash, 300 packages of instant noodles, more than 500 kg of chicken, hundreds kg of fruits and vegetables, food, medical masks and hand sanitizers as well as necessities for people working at checkpoints, quarantine and lockdown areas.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Do Duc Duy said that Tran Yen should clarify pandemic prevention orientations and further enhance its activeness in the work by conducting faster and more drastic measures to detect and trace people having contact with COVID-19 patients, as well as COVID-19 testing and treatment.

Along with continuing to raise public awareness and calling on local residents to prevent the spread of the pandemic in the community, the district should commend persons who showed outstanding performance in the work, settling arising problems, promoting internal resources and asking for support from the higher level only in necessary cases, he said.

Examining the area planned for a temporary COVID-19 hospital of the district, the leader lauded efforts of relevant agencies, while reminding the district to devise plans to allocate human resources and prepare hospital beds and necessities for the hospital so that it can be used when needed.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
