Knowledge, handwriting contests held for students in Yen Bai city

YBO - The Yen Bai provincial Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in coordination with the Thieu nien Tien phong (Vanguard Teenagers) and Nhi dong (Children) newspapers, organised knowledge and handwriting contests on April 16, attracting 120 students from 15 primary and junior high schools across Yen Bai city.

The events, held at the Van Phu Primary and Junior High School in Yen Bai city, was an activity marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Teenagers Union (May 15, 1941 – 2021).

In the handwriting contest, students wrote basing on the handwriting model for primary schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In the knowledge competition, contestants took multiple-choice exams in three subjects: mathematics, Vietnamese language, and nature and society (for second and third graders) or science (for fourth and fifth graders) in about one hour.


The four first-place winners of the knowledge contest receive prizes from the organising board.

Organisers presented four first-place prizes, eight second-place prizes, and 12 third-place prizes in the handwriting contest. Meanwhile, the knowledge competition also had similar respective numbers of prize winners.

The contests provided an occasion for students and teachers of local schools to share experience and commend the students with industriousness and outstanding academic results.
