Yen Bai ranks 33rd in Provincial Competitiveness Index list

YBO - Yen Bai province secured the 33rd position out of the country’s 63 provinces and cities in the 2020 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) rankings, released on April 15, moving up three places from the 2019 list and among the best performers in the mid-performance group.

Despites impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities at all levels, as well as departments and sectors, in Yen Bai have exerted efforts to improve the investment climate.

According to the PCI survey of enterprises conducted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the province went up three places from the 2019 list to the 33rd position among the 63 provinces and cities.

From 2016 to 2020, it saw considerable improvements in the local investment and business climate and investment attraction, helping it emerge from the 47th place to the 33rd position, with a total score of 63.3 points.

Efforts have been made to connect enterprises with authorities, thereby leading to improvements in grassroots-level competitiveness, administrative reforms, the governance of investment attraction, as well as the administration’s attitude towards the private economic sector.
