Nghia Lo’s labour federation works to better trade union activities

YBO - Trade unions at all levels in Nghia Lo town have paid attention to improve their their performance to protect legal and legitimate rights and interests of labourers in the first half of the 2018 – 2023 tenure.

The town’s labour federation has built a plan for this purpose, and directed local trade unions to integrate the task of protecting legal and legitimate rights and interests of labourers in their annual working programmes. 

The agency also regularly issued documents giving instructions and assigned staff to help local trade unions perform well their function of protecting legal and legitimate rights and interests of labourers. 
The labour federation has cooperated with agencies at the same level to create conditions for union members to participate in training courses, thus improving their professional qualifications and skills in order to meet requirements of the new situation.

Trade union members have received support to strive to become Party members.  

Additionally, the labour federation has enhanced inspection work to ensure agencies and units to fully implement employment benefits for labourers, while maintaining regular activities of the legal consultancy team in order to promptly submit petitions of trade union members to authorised agencies for prompt settlement.

It also directs trade union organisations of administrative offices and businesses to coordinate with same-level units and employers to organise conferences of employees and workers, and participates in revising rules, working regulations, collective working contracts and grassroots democracy regulations.

The agency also represents workers to sign labour agreements with employers where there is no trade union in accordance with provisions of the Labour Law.

During the first half of the tenure term, the town’s labour federation represented employees to sign three collective labour agreements in enterprises that did not have a trade union; and suggested raising the amount of shift meal for workers at Quang Thinh Construction JSC.

Chairwoman of the town’s labour federation Le Thi Hong Nga affirmed that the agency has always taken care of the life of labourers, and represented and protected the legitimate rights and interests of its members and labourers.

It has also focused on expanding trade union membership and contributing to building stronger trade union organizations at higher levels, she added.
