In 2022, a project on sericulture under value chains was implemented in the district’s communes of Tan Dong, Bao Dap, Quy Mong, and Hong Ca.

Under the project, financial support of more than 2 billion VND was given to households.

The sericulture households in Tran Yen district concentrated in developing intensive farming on an area of 808.8 ha of mulberry, of which 83.6 ha was cultivated for the first time.

Thanks to the application of new technical advances, the yield of leaves is higher than that of the previous year, reaching an average yield of 30-35 tonnes per ha. The silkworm rearing time of each crop is also longer than that of the same period last year.

The district planned to grow an additional 100 ha of mulberry in 2023, bringing its total area to 908.8 ha and silkworm cocoons output to 1,400 tonnes.
