Yen Bai locals enjoy great national solidarity festival

YBO - The great national solidarity festival was held in various localities across Yen Bai from November 10-18 with diverse activities.

Local residents in Mu Cang Chai enjoy the Great National Unity Festival.

Along with affirming its role in the implementation of political, socio-economic, culture, defence, security tasks and building the great national solidarity bloc, the festival also honoured the solidarity tradition of the nation, people’s mastery rights and the strengths of each community in building and defendng the Fatherland.

Nguyen Chi Cuong, Secretary of the Party Cell of Residential Area No.10, Nguyen Thai Hoc ward of Yen Bai city, said that this year, on the occasion of the festival, the emulation movement for 2023 and the formation of a number of cultural and art clubs were also announced.

During the festival, the majority of residential areas organised cultural, art and sports activities to promote the traditional culture of their ethnic groups and locality.

Nguyen Thi Hau, a local of Residential Area No.7 of Co Phuc township of Tran Yen district, showed her joy to join the festival, which she described as a chance to speak out people’s opinions and aspirations to the Party and local administration.

Over the years, the promotion of solidarity has been a factor for the socio-economic success of Yen Bai.

So far, 88 communes, or 58.67% of the total, have been recognised as new-style rural areas, including 17 advanced and 3 model ones. In the first nine months of 2022, the province’s GRDP growth reached about 9.09%, ranking 6th among the 14 northern midland and mountainous localities.

According to Chairman of the Yen Bai Fatherland Front Central Committee Giang A Tong, this year, the festival created a joyful atmosphere in all residential areas, contributing to fostering the solidarity and unity in the community, encouraging them to continue to join hands in production and building their homeland.

The festival saw the engagement of leaders of the province, departments and sectors, leaving a strong imprint in the local community.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan personally presented support and gifts to workers facing hardships across Yen Bai Province.

On January 16, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 "Tet Sum Vay" program under the theme “Tet Sum Vay – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” aiming to encourage, support, and care for union members and workers in Luc Yen District.

In 2024, the total value of activities conducted by the Red Cross Society of Yen Bai Province exceeded 86 billion VND, benefiting 230,105 individuals.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.

This period marks the end of the harvest season, allowing everyone to rest after a year of hard work. Nowadays, most Hmong people celebrate the Lunar New Year alongside the rest of the nation.
