Van Yen cinnamon festival 2022 opens

YBO - Van Yen cinnamon festival 2022 kicked off on the evening of October 14, in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province.

The festival was attended by commercial counsellors from China, Korea, Japan, India, the US, the UK, and the Netherlands in Vietnam; and leaders of the provinces: Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Son La, Quang Nam, Quang Ninh.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Ha Duc Anh, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Van Yen district emphasised: the 4th Cinnamon Festival aims to introduce and promote the image of Van Yen cinnamon to domestic and foreign friends.

The event also aims to attract enterprises to invest in the deep processing of cinnamon products and promote the development of the value chain of cinnamon products from Van Yen.

The event is considered an opportunity to promote the tourism potentials and strengths of Van Yen district and develop eco-tourism, community, and agricultural tourism.

Que Van Yen has been protected as a geographical indication in the country and Thailand. With more than 52,000ha and over 50 cinnamon products of all kinds, present in many domestic and international markets.

At the ceremony, the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, under the Ministry of Science and Technology, presented the Decision and Certificate of trademark registration for cinnamon products processed from Van Yen district.

On this occasion, visitors can learn about the processes of mining, preliminary processing and the processing of cinnamon and cinnamon products. Especially, with 170 booths, a variety of products from cinnamon such as cinnamon essential oil, and handicrafts made from cinnamon were also introduced.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan personally presented support and gifts to workers facing hardships across Yen Bai Province.

On January 16, the Yen Bai Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 "Tet Sum Vay" program under the theme “Tet Sum Vay – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” aiming to encourage, support, and care for union members and workers in Luc Yen District.

Luc Yen District presents the provincial decision recognizing Dong Quan Commune as meeting NTM standards for 2024.

Luc Yen District has recently have two additional communes, Dong Quan and Khanh Hoa, officially recognized by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee as meeting the criteria for new rural standards (Nông Thôn Mới - NTM) in 2024.
